During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, under the visionary leadership of our Principal, Mr. Manjunath B.R., a dedicated group of students stepped forward to volunteer in frontline healthcare services. They worked tirelessly in screening centers, quarantine facilities, and diagnostic labs supporting doctors and nurses in the fight against the virus.
They were recognized for their selfless service. The local health authorities recognized many of them with awards and certificates in recognition of their dedication, discipline, and commitment to saving lives. These students didn’t just learn about healthcare they lived it. They became role models of responsibility, empathy, and resilience.
They gained not only clinical skills but also a deep sense of purpose, reminding them that being a paramedic means always being prepared to assist when needed.
2. Saving Lives Through Awareness: Leprosy Survey Program
Our students don’t wait for opportunities they create them.
Our students participated in the Leprosy Screening and Awareness Program, a statewide initiative of the Health Department. The researchers conducted field surveys in rural communities, educating people about early symptoms and the importance of timely treatment with knowledge, empathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
They successfully identified two confirmed cases of leprosy, ensuring immediate medical intervention and preventing further spread of the disease. Students played an important role in the early detection of the disease, which is crucial for its control.
Our program was about more than diagnosing. It was about breaking stigmas, spreading awareness, and creating trust in underserved communities. It showcased how paramedical professionals are not just lab technicians but also health educators and community advocates.
